Susan Slater lived in New Mexico for 39 years. Her Southwest mystery novels reflect her extensive knowledge of the area. As an educator she directed the Six Sandoval Teacher Education Program for the All Indian Pueblo council through the University of New Mexico. She taught creative writing for UNM and the University of Phoenix. In addition, Susan was a both a manager of technical editors and writers and a Senior Instructional Specialist for two defense industry contractors before retiring to write fiction full time.

Jennifer J. Morgan
Finalist in the Mystery/Suspense and Cozy Mystery categories of the 2022 American Fiction Awards Shrouded in mystery, Jennifer grew up in the desert Southwest where she always dreamed of becoming an author. When she was younger, she was a huge fan of suspense/thriller novels—favorites being Dean Koontz, Stephen King, and James Patterson. Rebecca Barrett writes historical fiction, short stories of life in the South, and children’s stories. She fell in love with cozy mysteries after discovering Lillian Jackson Braun’s series. In 2024, released her first book in the Cat Callahan Mystery Series.
Currently she is also writing a detective series set in the deep South of the sixties featuring Hugo August, a Vietnam veteran, as her protagonist. The first book, The Rat Catcher, is available as of June 1, 2023. She is working on the second book of the series, She Had To Die, while rocking out to the great music of the sixties and delving into the good vibes, high times, and social unrest of that era.
An avid reader since the book mobile began coming to their farm when she was a child, Rebecca now happily lives in the lovely village of Fairhope, Alabama, situated on Mobile Bay, where she finds inspiration all around her.
